Hans was counted in a census 6 in 1865 in Sandrud farm, Opstad, Sør-Odal, Hedmark, Norway. He emigrated 7, 8 on 31 May 1872 from Kristiania (now Oslo), Norway, aboard SS "Høvding". He was employed 9 as a butcher. He immigrated on 01 Sep 1872 to Napier, Hawkes Bay, New Zealand.

Hans married 1, 2, 3, 4 Jonette (Jeanette) EDVARDSDATTER (CHRISTOFFERSEN) daughter of Edvard (Edward) KRISTOFFERSEN (CHRISTOFFERSEN) and Marthe (or Mathea) JOHANNESDATTER on 22 Nov 1888 in Registrar's Office, Norsewood, Hawkes Bay, New Zealand. Jonette was born 5 on 04 Dec 1866 in Glemmen, Østfold, Norway. She was christened 6 on 17 Feb 1867 in Glemmen, Østfold, Norway. She died 7, 8 on 14 Nov 1945 in Greenlane Hospital, Epsom, Auckland, New Zealand. She was buried 9, 10 on 16 Nov 1945 in Waikumete Cemetery, Waitakere, Auckland, New Zealand. Jonette emigrated 11, 12 on 31 May 1872 from Kristiania (now Oslo), Norway, aboard SS "Høvding". She immigrated on 01 Sep 1872 to Napier, Hawkes Bay, New Zealand. She was employed 13 as dressmaker.

        Edwin married Ivy Maria PARADINE daughter of William Roland George PARADINE and Selina Mare PETERSEN in 1924. Ivy was born 1 about 1904 in New Zealand. She died 2 about 1950 in New Zealand. She was buried 3 in Taihape Cemetery, Taihape, Rangitikei, New Zealand.
  9 M iii John Harold OLSEN was born 1 about 1892 in New Zealand. He died 2, 3, 4 on 08 Aug 1915 in Turkey. The cause of death was killed in action (WWI). He was buried 5 in Turkey. John served in the military 6, 7 Serial no. 12/2072 - Army. [Notes]
  10 M iv Henry Stanley (Stanley) OLSEN was born 1 about 1894 in New Zealand. He died 2, 3, 4 on 11 Apr 1900 in New Zealand (reg'd at Norsewood). He was buried 5 in Norsewood Cemetery, Norsewood, Tararua, New Zealand.

        Hector married 1 Marjorie Olive JORDAN in 1934 in New Zealand. Marjorie was born on 20 May 1911. She died 2, 3 on 26 Jul 1990 in New Zealand. She was buried 4 on 30 Jul 1990 in Waikumete Cemetery, Waitakere, Auckland, New Zealand.
